Hello and Welcome!

You have shimmied your way over to a page which pays to the significant figures who have contributed to the development of the Sydney Burlesque scene throughout the years.

For decades, Burlesque has become an exceptional and vital part of the Sydney performing arts and entertainment sector, many generations have bloomed and many styles have emerged, and with shows now taking place almost every night of the week, it has provided the opportunity for creatives all over the city to get involved and dedicate their unique talents to the art form. I'm talking singers, dancers, musicians, strippers, magicians, actors, photographers, venue managers, bar owners, producers, film makers, event organisers, social and political advocates, you name it. Burlesque is not only performance for entertainment and tease, but performance for a cause, it may be for charity, it may be a message, a celebration, a way to not only stimulate our loins, but imaginations and thoughts!

You didn't know the burlesque community consisted of so many different roles and purposes? I haven't even dusted off the list yet!

But never fear, this is why this page is here.

INFO

Despite the growing popularity of Burlesque in Sydney, and its growing prominence in the media through film and large scale productions, many members of the public are still unaware of, and perplexed by what Burlesque truly is, and today many opinions of Burlesque may be influenced by a variety of falsities and misconceptions of what this art form represents.

To provide my own singular explanation of what constitutes Burlesque, and what is does for our community, would not do justice to the art form. Instead, let these talented individuals provide you with an explanation derived from experience.

It's time we get to know these brilliant minds who are involved in the Sydney Burlesque scene in their own unique way, and who deserve the utmost recognition for their contribution to this intimate, yet brilliant community of culture and creativity.

It's time to make the public aware of the Brilliant Bones that together, form the Bump N' Grindin body of Sydney Burlesque!
